Meet Kwanele
Who Am I?
My name is Kwanele Khumalo and I consider myself an introvert, someone who finds solace in my own company. I have to admit that I am more of a short tempered person, which is why I often choose to spend most of my time alone to avoid any potential conflicts. There is something incredibly calming about solitude for me. During these moments, I can reflect, recharge and regain my composure. Being alone allows me to find peace in my thoughs and I truly appreciate the simple joys of my own company.
Where I am From?
Why I Joined Whakatau
When I was in high school, a teacher introduced me to computer science, did my research and I found out about the jobs I can do with a computer science degree. But what really drove me was the desire to make my grandmother proud. She raised me, and I wanted to thank her by succeeding and having a good life. I learned that software engineering was a job in demand, and made sense to me. I didn't want to pursue a career with few job opportunities; that wouldn't make sense. So, after finishing high school, I tried studying programming, but did not work out. My goal is not just to have a better life for myself but also to make a difference in my village. That is one of the reasons I joined. Above all is the love of knowing how to code which drove me till this day. I believe one person can change things, and I want to be that person. In short, I joined Whakatau because it was my last chance to achieve my goals and create a better future. This opportunity means a lot to me, and I'm here with determination to make the most of it.
